What we do
Our pharmacist uses a clinical scoring tool (FeverPAIN) to assess whether your sore throat is likely bacterial. Antibiotics are only prescribed when genuinely needed — we'll help you feel better whichever way.
When to seek other help
This service may not be suitable in the following situations — please seek the appropriate care instead:
- Severe difficulty swallowing or inability to open the mouth (possible quinsy — go to A&E)
- Drooling or muffled "hot potato" voice
- Difficulty breathing or stridor
- Under 5 years old
- Suspected epiglottitis — call 999
