- Pain or pressure in your lower tummy
What we do
Our pharmacist can assess your symptoms and prescribe antibiotics for uncomplicated UTIs. This service is available for women aged 16–64 who are not pregnant and have no other complicating factors. If your symptoms include back pain or fever, please see your GP as this may indicate a kidney infection.
When to seek other help
This service may not be suitable in the following situations — please seek the appropriate care instead:
- Men — this service is for women only; men should see their GP
- Under 16 or over 64 years old
- Pregnant or possibly pregnant
- Back or loin pain, high fever or rigors (possible kidney infection — see your GP urgently)
- Catheter in place
- Recurrent UTIs (3 or more in 12 months) — seek GP review
